Introduction

N.K. Singh Memorial EPS School has completed almost four decades of its existence. Established in the year 1967, the institution’s contribution has been laudable and it has emerged as one of the leading educational institutions of the country. Under the visionary personality of late Founder Principal N.K. Singh, the school got a perfect guidance of his in-born managerial skills and devotion to uplift the standards of education of his motherland. He always dreamt of providing good quality education within the reach of average middle-class family and directed all of his activities for the fulfillment of his dream. The tree planted by him flourished in quick time and started producing quality manpower for the development of the country. As a result the country became proud to have N.K. Singh as her son. The school has recently been named as N.K. Singh Memorial English Preparatory School to honor his contribution and the street on which the school premise is situated has been named by the local Government as N.K. Singh Marga.

The school is recognized for its progressive education with a definite accent on Nepali culture and traditions. It provides a host of activities and the curriculum is so planned that it suits the different stages of development. The school’s achievement in academics has been remarkable with almost cent percent results and overwhelming majority in the top bracket in the examinations conducted by SLC board of HMG of the kingdom of Nepal. Every year, a number of students make it in the medical, engineering and other professional courses. Besides academics, the students have brought laurels to their institutions by exhibiting outstanding performances in the various national level inter-school competitions in academics, art, music, dance and sports.

In EPS, students are expected to be industrious, disciplined, respectful, obedient and independent in order to derive maximum advantage out of their tenure in school. The school does its best to impart a meaningful educational programme to help the students to develop all round well integrated personality with a sense of plurality in every respect that is so essential to the national and individual progress.

• As it was my first and last school, a part of my life I spent here had been wonderful. This is the place where I learnt discipline and built the foundation to tackle the cruel world ahead. • Throughout my stay in EPS the educational standard was one of the nest in the country and yet very much affordable. What I learnt at EPS has always guided me throughout my career. I can compete among top tiers students around the world and I have always surpassed their level. • It was my greatest of luck to join EPS from where I did my High School graduation. I must thank EPS and my teachers who build the foundation of my career.
